For 18 years, since 1995, Iran Heritage Foundation has nurtured, cultivated and developed Iran’s cultural heritage. With a broad focus extending from ancient to contemporary subjects, we have forged strong relationships with major international institutions of learning and culture in the UK and US.
The Foundation provides support to academic and cultural posts, funds a range of digitisations projects, has organised numerous major exhibitions, created a vast array of public programmes and provided grants for research, travel and study.
Its international reach has included programmes in Armenia, Austria, Canada, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the United States, Britain, and more through multi-disciplinary events that presented wide aspects of Persian culture, both ancient and modern. In the modern arena, IHF has promoted cinema, theatre, dance and contemporary art; historic Iran has also been most successfully represented, most recently at its landmark five-city touring exhibition of the States of the Cyrus Cylinder.
In the context of declining government funding in the UK, IHF fills a significant void by providing vital sustenance and funding to the teaching, research and dissemination of our cultural heritage, which would otherwise have been relegated to a minor role or eliminated at most institutions.
The Foundation’s main source of funding is the annual contribution pledged by our Trustees and Patrons, supplemented by fund-raising events, such as our Norouz Gala in London. Business and individual sponsorships are also encouraged to assist with various projects. No financial support is accepted from any government organisations or lobbying groups.
